NELA Christian Homeschool Flame (Monroe, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting John Paul the Great Academy Guardians (Lafayette, LA), 40-28 in a league bout.

With the win, NELA Christian Homeschool upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season.

Next up, the Guardians play the Faith Training Christian Academy (Leesville, LA) in a Christian Educators of Louisiana bout, on Tuesday, January 24. John Paul the Great Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The go into the bout with a 15-7 record after their 57-19 league win over Mount Olive Christian (Athens, LA).
