Florida High School Basketball - Cypress Bay nips Monarch
January 17, 2023: Weston, FL 33332 Cypress Bay Lightning (Weston, FL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Monarch Knights (Coconut Creek, FL), 39-36 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Cypress Bay upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Lightning travel to Northeast (Oakland Park, FL) to play the Hurricanes in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a record of 5-7. Northeast lost 52-50 in their recent non-league bout against Pembroke Pines Charter (Pembroke Pines, FL)
Next up, the Knights play the South Plantation Paladins (Plantation, FL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Monarch will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Paladins come into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 56-54 non-league loss to Suncoast (Riviera Beach, FL).
