Missouri High School Basketball - Mercer tops Gilman City
January 17, 2024: Gilman City, MO 64642 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Mercer Cardinals (Mercer, MO) and the host Gilman City Hawks (Gilman City, MO), saw Mercer's basketball squad knock off Gilman City by a count of 62-46.
With the victory, Mercer upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Grundy County/Newtown-Harris (Galt, MO) to play the Panthers in a HDC challenge on Friday, January 19. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 10-3. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris won 55-12 in their recent league challenge against East Harrison [Ridgeway/Cainsville] (Ridgeway, MO)
Next up, the Hawks play the Winston Red Birds (Winston, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 19. Gilman City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Red Birds come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 48-47 non-league loss to Cameron (Cameron, MO).
