Missouri High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon fells Lockwood
January 17, 2024: Mt. Vernon, MO 65712 Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lockwood Tigers (Lockwood, MO), 54-36 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Hollister (Hollister, MO) to play the Tigers in a Big 8 bout on Monday, January 22. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-9.
Next up, the Tigers play the Ash Grove Pirates (Ash Grove, MO) in a Southwest bout, on Monday, January 22. Lockwood will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 72-38 league win over Sarcoxie (Sarcoxie, MO).
