Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Wilmington tops Riverside
January 17, 2024: Ellwood City, PA 16117 Wilmington Greyhounds (New Wilmington, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA), 56-42 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Wilmington upgrades its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Slippery Rock (Slippery Rock, PA) to play the Rockets in a District 10 Region 4 bout on Thursday, January 18. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Slippery Rock lost 48-39 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin (Franklin, PA)
Next up, the Panthers play the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 22. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Scotties come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 62-34 non-league win over Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA).
