January 17, 2025: Parkersburg, IA 50665 Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons (Parkersburg, IA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), 72-41 in a league match.
With the victory, Aplington-Parkersburg advances its record to 11-1 on the year. The Falcons travel to Kee (Lansing, IA) to face the Kee Hawks in a non-league match on Saturday, January 18. The Kee Hawks enter the match with a record of 6-5. Kee won 80-45 in their recent non-league match against New Hampton (New Hampton, IA)
The Sailors now own a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Waterloo East for a non-league match on Saturday, January 18. Columbus will face a Trojans squad coming off a 65-56 non-league win over Lincoln (Des Moines, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 4-6.
