January 17, 2025: Welch, OK 74369 Welch Wildcats (Welch, OK) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Commerce Tigers (Commerce, OK), 56-48 in a league match.
With the victory, Welch upgrades its record to 5-5 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Fairland (Fairland, OK) to face the Owls in a Lucky Seven match on Saturday, January 18. The Owls enter the match with a record of 12-1. Fairland won 73-44 in their recent non-league match against Chelsea (Chelsea, OK)
The Tigers now sport a 0-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Quapaw for a Lucky Seven match on Tuesday, January 21. Commerce will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 76-39 league loss to Wyandotte (Wyandotte, OK). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-6.
