Illinois High School Basketball - Newark holds off Illinois Math & Science Academy

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Newark Norsemen basketball team scored a close 75-72 triumph over the Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans.

The Norsemen (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Marquette (Ottawa, IL). The Crusaders go into the non-league contest with a 8-10 record. In their last contest, Marquette nipped St. Bede (Peru, IL), 58-43, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Titans confront the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes (Woodstock, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 18. Illinois Math & Science Academy will attempt to better on its 4-9 season record. The Hurricanes go into the contest with a 6-12 record after their 74-39 non-league win over Durand (Durand, IL).
