The Quitman Panthers basketball squad (Quitman, MS), was nudged 51-44 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Morton Panthers (Morton, MS)

With the victory, Morton advances its record to 14-5 on the year. The Panthers travel to Lanier (Jackson, MS) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league battle on Monday, January 20. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a record of 16-4. Lanier lost 76-47 in their recent league battle against Raymond (Raymond, MS)

The Panthers now own a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Jones for a non-league battle on Monday, January 20. Quitman will meet a Mustangs squad coming off a 65-35 non-league loss to Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-16.
