Illinois High School Basketball - South County overwhelms Mt. Olive
January 17, 2025: Mt. Olive, IL 62069 The South County Vipers basketball team scored 69 points and limited the host Mt. Olive Wildcats to 13 in the Vipers league triumph on Friday.
The Vipers now have a 9-10 record. They play next when they travel to Pawnee for a Freelance game on Tuesday, January 21. South County will confront a Indians team coming off a 64-58 non-league loss to Calvary (Springfield, IL). The Indians record now stands at 3-12.
With the loss, Mt. Olive falls to 4-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Southwestern (Piasa, IL) to confront the Piasa Birds in a non-league game on Monday, January 20. The Piasa Birds go into the game with a record of 10-9. Southwestern won 62-51 in their recent league game against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL)
