Minnesota High School Basketball - Pine River-Backus crushes Bertha-Hewitt
January 18, 2022: Pine River, MN 56474 Pine River-Backus Tigers (Pine River, MN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bertha-Hewitt Bears (Bertha, MN), 81-59 in a league bout.
With the victory, Pine River-Backus upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (Belgrade, MN) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 21. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 9-3. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa won 81-50 in their recent non-league bout against Paynesville (Paynesville, MN)
Next up, the Bears play the Pillager Huskies (Pillager, MN) in a AA Section 7 bout, on Thursday, January 20. Bertha-Hewitt will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Huskies come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 63-52 league loss to Menahga (Menahga, MN).
