January 18, 2023: Hazleton, PA 18202 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA) and the visiting Dallas Mountaineers (Dallas, PA), saw Hazleton Area's basketball squad hold off Dallas by a count of 36-33.
With the victory, Hazleton Area upgrades its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Tunkhannock (Tunkhannock, PA) to play the Tigers in a challenge on Friday, January 20. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Tunkhannock lost 48-14 in their recent league challenge against Hazleton Area (Hazleton, PA)
Next up, the Mountaineers play the Williamsport Millionaires (Williamsport, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 28. Dallas will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
