Weequahic Indians (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cedar Grove Panthers (Cedar Grove, NJ), 48-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Weequahic upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Indians travel to Barringer (Newark, NJ) to play the Blue Bears in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Blue Bears go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Barringer lost 67-51 in their recent league bout against Shabazz (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Panthers play the Glen Ridge Ridgers (Glen Ridge, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Cedar Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Ridgers go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 42-29 non-league loss to West Caldwell Tech (West Caldwell, NJ).
