North Carolina High School Basketball - Butler can't hold off Corvian Community

Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC), 59-54 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Corvian Community upgrades its record to 8-5 on the year. The Cardinals host Bradford Prep (Charlotte, NC) to face the Bears in a 1A/2A Catawba Shores match on Tuesday, January 21. The Bears enter the match with a record of 10-7. Bradford Prep won 65-59 in their recent non-league match against York Prep (Rock Hill, SC)

The Bulldogs now sport a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Garinger for a 4A Southwestern match on Friday, January 24. Butler will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 86-58 league loss to Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-13.
