January 18, 2025: Clarksburg, WV 26301 Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights (Wheeling, WV) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Clarksburg, WV), 95-44 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Wheeling Central Catholic upgrades its record to 9-1 on the year. The Maroon Knights travel to Weir (Weirton, WV) to face the Red Riders in a non-league match on Monday, January 20. The Red Riders enter the match with a record of 3-7. Weir lost 53-44 in their recent non-league match against Harrison Central (Cadiz, OH)
The Fighting Irish now sport a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Parkersburg Catholic for a Little Kanawha - West match on Monday, January 20. Notre Dame will face a Crusaders squad coming off a 55-42 non-league loss to Fort Frye (Beverly, OH). The Crusaders record now stands at 3-7.
