January 18, 2025: New Castle, DE 19720 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Sanford Warriors (Hockessin, DE) and the host William Penn Colonials (New Castle, DE), observed Sanford's basketball team edge William Penn by a score of 67-65.
The Warriors (8-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Wilmington Friends (Wilmington, DE). The Quakers come into the Independent Schools challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Wilmington Friends edged Tower Hill (Wilmington, DE), 38-24, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Colonials battle the St. Elizabeth Vikings (Wilmington, DE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. William Penn will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 10-1 record after their 50-48 non-league win over Dover (Dover, DE).
