Louisiana High School Basketball - Barbe overwhelms Lafayette
January 19, 2023: Lake Charles, LA 70605 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA) and the visiting Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), saw Barbe's basketball squad wallop Lafayette by a tally of 75-44.
With the victory, Barbe improves its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Carencro (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Bears in a 5A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 9-8. Carencro won 57-51 in their recent league challenge against Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA)
Next up, the Lions confront the New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) in a 5A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 20-1 record after their 57-42 league win over Comeaux (Lafayette, LA).
