Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), saw Carmel Christian's basketball squad wallop Porter Ridge by a tally of 85-51.

With the victory, Carmel Christian improves its record to 12-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Cannon (Concord, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 19-7.

Next up, the Pirates play the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Porter Ridge will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 3-13 record after their 87-56 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).
