In Friday's league match, the visiting East Carteret Mariners basketball team scored a decisive 72-40 triumph over the Southside Seahawks.

In their next game, the Mariners face the Lejeune Devil Pups (Camp Lejeune, NC) in a 1A/2A Coastal Plains match, on Tuesday, January 23. East Carteret will attempt to move on its 10-7 season record. The Devil Pups enter the match with a 6-8 record after their 78-65 league loss to Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC).
