Connecticut High School Basketball - Staples can't hold off Stamford

The Stamford Black Knights basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Staples Wreckers to 57 in the Black Knights league triumph on Friday.

The Black Knights now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ridgefield for a Fairfield County contest on Tuesday, January 23. Stamford will battle a Tigers team coming off a 62-41 league win over Norwalk (Norwalk, CT). The Tigers record now stands at 9-1.

The Wreckers (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Darien (Darien, CT). The Blue Wave enter the Fairfield County contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Darien was nudged by St. Joseph (Trumbull, CT), 73-65, in a league contest.
