Mason County Royals (Maysville, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pendleton County Wildcats (Falmouth, KY), 60-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mason County upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Royals travel to Pulaski County (Somerset, KY) to play the Maroons in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 14-7. Pulaski County won 115-98 in their recent non-league challenge against Wayne County (Monticello, KY)

Next up, the Wildcats battle the Harrison County Thorobreds (Cynthiana, KY) in a District 38 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Pendleton County will attempt to improve on its 12-8 season record.
