South Point Pointers (South Point, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Fairland Dragons (Proctorville, OH), 50-40 in a league bout.

With the win, South Point upgrades its record to 13-2 on the season. The Pointers host Ironton (Ironton, OH) to play the Fighting Tigers in a Ohio Valley bout on Friday, January 27. The Fighting Tigers go into the bout with a record of 9-4.

Next up, the Dragons play the Eastern Warriors (Sardinia, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Fairland will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 52-48 league win over Peebles (Peebles, OH).
