Pickens County Tornadoes (Reform, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Greensboro Raiders (Greensboro, AL), 49-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pickens County upgrades its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host South Lamar (Millport, AL) to play the Stallions in a 1A Area 9 bout on Saturday, January 21. The Stallions come into the bout with a record of 2-8. South Lamar lost 54-52 in their recent league bout against Holy Spirit Catholic (Tuscaloosa, AL)

Next up, the Raiders play the Aliceville Yellowjackets (Aliceville, AL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Greensboro will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record.
