Illinois High School Basketball - St. Thomas More tops Cornerstone Christian
January 20, 2024: Champaign, IL 61822 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) and the visiting Cornerstone Christian Cyclones (Bloomington, IL), saw St. Thomas More's basketball squad knock off Cornerstone Christian by a count of 44-35.
With the victory, St. Thomas More upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Sabers travel to St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL) to play the Spartans in a Illini Prairie challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 16-5. St. Joseph-Ogden lost 81-75 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Anthony (Effingham, IL)
Next up, the Cyclones play the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Cornerstone Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 5-15 record after their 51-41 non-league loss to Ridgeview (Colfax, IL).
