Illinois High School Basketball - Alton tops Breese Central
January 20, 2024: Alton, IL 62002 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) and the visiting Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL), saw Alton's basketball squad knock off Breese Central by a count of 57-46.
With the victory, Alton upgrades its record to 23-1 on the campaign. The Redbirds travel to East St. Louis (East St. Louis, IL) to play the Flyers in a Southwestern challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Flyers come into the challenge with a record of 8-14.
Next up, the Cougars play the Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Breese Central will attempt to upgrade on its 20-3 season record. The Comets come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 40-29 non-league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL).
