South Dakota High School Basketball - Elk Point-Jefferson thwarts Sanborn Central/Woonsocket
January 20, 2024: Forestburg, SD 57385 The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD) basketball knocked off the host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels (Forestburg, SD), 45-35 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Huskies (8-2) will now prepare for their test against Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Westerners go into the non-league test with a 9-2 record. In their last test, Akron-Westfield notched a victory over West Sioux (Hawarden, IA), 49-24, in a league test.
The Rebels now own a 8-4 record. They play next when they travel to Hanson for a A Region 5 test on Tuesday, January 23. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will encounter a Beavers squad coming off a 58-46 non-league win over Canistota (Canistota, SD). The Beavers record now stands at 9-1.
