January 20, 2026: Gallup, NM 87301 The Reserve Mountaineers basketball squad (Reserve, NM), was crushed 61-31 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Hozho Academy Wolves (Gallup, NM)
With the victory, Hozho Academy advances its record to 11-5 on the year. The Wolves travel to Dulce (Dulce, NM) to meet the Hawks in a 2A District 1 battle on Saturday, January 24. The Hawks enter the battle with a record of 9-7.
The Mountaineers now own a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Animas for a A District 2 battle on Thursday, January 29. Reserve will meet a Panthers team coming off a 73-14 league loss to Magdalena (Magdalena, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 1-16.
