Texas High School Basketball - Buna fells Newton
January 21, 2022: Buna, TX 77612 Buna Cougars (Buna, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newton Eagles (Newton, TX), 53-42 in a league bout.
With the win, Buna upgrades its record to 13-9 on the season. The Cougars travel to Kirbyville (Kirbyville, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 3A Region III District 22 bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 6-16. Kirbyville won 44-43 in their recent league bout against Warren (Warren, TX)
Next up, the Eagles play the Anahuac Panthers (Anahuac, TX) in a 3A Region III District 22 bout, on Tuesday, January 25. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 18-7 record after their 49-44 league loss to East Chambers (Winnie, TX).
