Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) and the visiting South Cobb Eagles (Austell, GA), saw Pope's basketball squad hold off South Cobb by a tally of 70-64.

With the victory, Pope improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Wheeler (Marietta, GA) to play the Wildcats in a AAAAAA Region 6 challenge on Saturday, January 22. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 13-4. Wheeler won 76-69 in their recent league challenge against Allatoona (Acworth, GA)
