Iowa High School Basketball - Waverly-Shell Rock nips Benton
January 21, 2023: Waverly, IA 50677 Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks (Waverly, IA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA), 64-60 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Waverly-Shell Rock upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Go-Hawks host Forest City (Forest City, IA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 2-10. Forest City won 70-67 in their recent league bout against North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA)
Next up, the Bobcats play the Williamsburg Raiders (Williamsburg, IA) in a WAMAC - West bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Benton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 76-62 league win over Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA).
