Ohio High School Basketball - St. Vincent-St. Mary fells Catholic Central
January 21, 2023: Akron, OH 44303 St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Catholic Central Cougars (Grand Rapids, MI), 72-55 in a non-league bout.
With the win, St. Vincent-St. Mary upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Fighting Irish host St. Edward (Lakewood, OH) to play the Eagles in a Freelance bout on Friday, January 27. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-0. St. Edward won 80-38 in their recent non-league bout against Benedictine (Cleveland, OH)
Next up, the Cougars play the South Christian Sailors (Grand Rapids, MI) in a Ottawa-Kent - Gold bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Catholic Central will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Sailors go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 81-54 league win over Wayland (Wayland, MI).
