Mohawk Mustangs (Marcola, OR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Chiloquin Panthers/Queens (Chiloquin, OR), 40-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mohawk upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Crow (Eugene, OR) to play the Cougars in a 1A Mountain West bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 4-10. Crow won 46-28 in their recent league bout against McKenzie (Finn Rock, OR)

Next up, the Panthers/Queens play the Rogue Valley Adventist Red Tail Hawks (Medford, OR) in a 1A Mountain Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Chiloquin will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record.
