The Gaston Day Spartans basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Hickory Grove Christian Lions to 43 in the Spartans league triumph on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westminster Catawba Christian for a NCISAA Metrolina contest on Tuesday, January 24. Gaston Day will battle a Indians team coming off a 74-68 league win over Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC). The Indians record now stands at 13-12.
The Lions (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Eagles enter the NCISAA Metrolina contest with a 24-5 record. In their last contest, Concord Academy triumphed over Northside Christian Academy (Charlotte, NC), 69-64, in a league contest.
