January 21, 2023: Ava, MO 65608 The Ava Bears (Ava, MO) basketball nudged the visiting Afton Eagles (Afton, OK), 39-33 in Saturday's non-league contest.
The Bears now sport a 17-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Willow Springs for a South Central contest on Monday, January 30. Ava will battle a Bears team coming off a 64-32 non-league loss to Strafford (Strafford, MO). The Bears record now stands at 3-6.
The Eagles (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Colcord (Colcord, OK). The Hornets enter the Lucky Seven contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Colcord was nudged by Bristow (Bristow, OK), 56-34, in a non-league contest.
