New York High School Basketball - Monticello trounces Saugerties
January 21, 2023: Monticello, NY 12701 The Monticello Panthers (Monticello, NY) basketball crushed the visiting Saugerties Sawyers (Saugerties, NY), 56-15 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Panthers (3-4) will now prepare for their test against Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY). The Dragons go into the non-league test with a 3-7 record. In their last test, Cornwall Central was trounced by Beacon (Beacon, NY), 63-44, in a non-league test.
The Sawyers now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Marlboro Central for a non-league test on Friday, January 27. Saugerties will encounter a Dukes squad coming off a 51-46 non-league loss to Our Lady of Lourdes (Poughkeepsie, NY). The Dukes record now stands at 3-5.
