January 21, 2025: Swampscott, MA 01907 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA) and the host Swampscott Big Blue (Swampscott, MA), observed Masconomet Regional's basketball team knock off Swampscott by a score of 65-48.
The Chieftains (11-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Peabody Veterans Memorial (Peabody, MA). The Tanners come into the Northeastern - Large challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, Peabody Veterans Memorial was knocked off by Beverly (Beverly, MA), 74-45, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Big Blue encounter the Winthrop Vikings (Winthrop, MA) in a Northeastern - Small challenge, on Friday, January 24. Swampscott will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 69-49 non-league loss to Marblehead (Marblehead, MA).
