The Alleghany Cougars basketball squad (Covington, VA), was nudged 54-48 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the visiting Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA)

With the victory, Glenvar advances its record to 10-1 on the year. The Highlanders travel to James River (Buchanan, VA) to clash with the Knights in a non-league test on Thursday, January 23. The Knights come into the test with a record of 2-3. James River lost 54-24 in their recent non-league test against Patrick County (Stuart, VA)

The Cougars (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes come into the non-league test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Floyd County held off Radford (Radford, VA), 44-26, in a non-league test.
