Mississippi High School Basketball - New Hope nudges Covenant Christian
January 22, 2022: Columbus, MS 39702 New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Covenant Christian Eagles (Tuscumbia, AL), 57-50 in a non-league bout.
With the win, New Hope upgrades its record to 15-3 on the season. The Trojans travel to Saltillo (Saltillo, MS) to clash with the Tigers in a 5A Region 1 bout on Friday, January 28. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 19-3.
Next up, the Eagles clash with the Westminster Christian Wildcats (Huntsville, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 25. Covenant Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 19-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 17-5 record after their 50-45 non-league win over Section (Section, AL).
