Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets (Madrid, NY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Tupper Lake Lumberjacks (Tupper Lake, NY), 72-70 in a league bout.

With the win, Madrid-Waddington upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Parishville-Hopkinton (Parishville, NY) to clash with the Panthers in a Section 10 East bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-8.

Next up, the Lumberjacks clash with the St. Lawrence Central Larries (Brasher Falls, NY) in a Section 10 East bout, on Monday, January 24. Tupper Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Larries go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 64-18 league win over Brushton-Moira (Brushton, NY).
