Ohio High School Basketball - Ursuline can't hold off Springfield
January 22, 2022: New Middletown, OH 44442 The Springfield Tigers basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Ursuline Fighting Irish to 57 in the Tigers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Tigers now sport a 14-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mineral Ridge for a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet contest on Tuesday, January 25. Springfield will battle a Rams team coming off a 51-43 non-league loss to Newton Falls (Newton Falls, OH). The Rams record now stands at 2-12.
The Fighting Irish (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Harding (Warren, OH). The Raiders come into the non-league contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Harding edged Struthers (Struthers, OH), 75-68, in a non-league contest.
