January 22, 2024: Elk Point, SD 57025 The Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) basketball nipped the host Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD), 46-39 in Monday's non-league test.
The Westerners (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Hinton (Hinton, IA). The Blackhawks go into the War Eagle test with a 9-8 record.
The Huskies now own a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Tri-Valley for a non-league test on Thursday, January 25. Elk Point-Jefferson will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 68-54 non-league loss to Canton (Canton, SD). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-7.
