Maryland High School Basketball - Gwynn Park holds off Oxon Hill
January 22, 2024: Brandywine, MD 20613 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets (Brandywine, MD) and the visiting Oxon Hill Clippers (Oxon Hill, MD), saw Gwynn Park's basketball squad hold off Oxon Hill by a tally of 54-49.
With the victory, Gwynn Park improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Largo (Upper Marlboro, MD) to confront the Lions in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Largo won 51-9 in their recent league challenge against Fairmont Heights (Capitol Heights, MD)
Next up, the Clippers confront the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers (Laurel, MD) in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Oxon Hill will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 2-0 league loss to Surrattsville (Clinton, MD).
