In Wednesday's non-league test, the North Greene Spartans (White Hall, IL) basketball squad trounced the host Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), by a score of 48-19.

Next, the Spartans encounter the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars (Winchester, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley test, on Thursday, January 23. North Greene will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 10-10 record after their 69-38 non-league loss to Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL).

The Knights (2-20) will now prepare for their test against Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL). The Explorers go into the Gateway Metro bout with a 9-9 record.
