Iowa High School Basketball - West Burlington tops Winfield-Mt. Union
January 23, 2023: West Burlington, IA 52655 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the West Burlington Falcons (West Burlington, IA) and the visiting Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves (Winfield, IA), saw West Burlington's basketball squad knock off Winfield-Mt. Union by a count of 66-52.
With the victory, West Burlington upgrades its record to 11-0 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Central Lee (Donnellson, IA) to play the Hawks in a SEI - South challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 3-10. Central Lee won 42-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Van Buren County (Keosauqua, IA)
Next up, the Wolves play the Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) in a SEI - North challenge, on Friday, January 27. Winfield-Mt. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 2-16 record after their 53-41 league loss to Wapello (Wapello, IA).
