Florida High School Basketball - New Smyrna Beach topped by Merritt Island
January 23, 2023: New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 The Merritt Island Mustangs basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the host New Smyrna Beach Barracudas to 49 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Monday.
The Mustangs now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eau Gallie for a contest on Wednesday, February 1. Merritt Island will battle a Commodores team coming off a 46-40 non-league win over Port St. Lucie (Port St. Lucie, FL). The Commodores record now stands at 6-12.
The Barracudas (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Halifax Academy (Daytona Beach, FL). The Knights come into the non-league contest with a 2-1 record.
