Georgia High School Basketball - Calhoun County nips Mitchell County
January 23, 2024: Camilla, GA 31730 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Calhoun County Cougars (Edison, GA) and the host Mitchell County Eagles (Camilla, GA), saw Calhoun County's basketball squad hold off Mitchell County by a count of 55-50.
With the victory, Calhoun County upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Cougars host Randolph-Clay (Cuthbert, GA) to play the Red Devils in a A D2 Region 1 challenge on Friday, January 26. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Randolph-Clay won 52-30 in their recent league challenge against Pataula Charter Academy (Edison, GA)
Next up, the Eagles play the Early County Bobcats (Blakely, GA) in a A D2 Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 26. Mitchell County will attempt to upgrade on its 15-3 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 13-7 record after their 86-36 league win over Quitman County (Georgetown, GA).
