Alabama High School Basketball - Talladega County Central holds off Jefferson Christian Academy
January 23, 2024: Birmingham, AL 35210 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Talladega County Central Fighting Tigers (Talladega, AL) and the host Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles (Birmingham, AL), saw Talladega County Central's basketball squad hold off Jefferson Christian Academy by a tally of 67-61.
With the victory, Talladega County Central improves its record to 14-9 on the campaign. The Fighting Tigers travel to Vincent (Vincent, AL) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 26. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 7-13. Vincent lost 52-43 in their recent league challenge against Cornerstone (Birmingham, AL)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Ragland Purple Devils (Ragland, AL) in a 1A Area 10 challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Jefferson Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 0-16 season record. The Purple Devils come into the challenge with a 5-15 record after their 56-47 non-league loss to Pleasant Valley (Jacksonville, AL).
