Howells-Dodge Jaguars (Howells, NE) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Battle Creek Braves (Battle Creek, NE), 46-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Howells-Dodge upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Tekamah-Herman (Tekamah, NE) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 26. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 6-10. Tekamah-Herman won 59-15 in their recent non-league bout against Mead (Mead, NE)

Next up, the Braves play the Boone Central Cardinals (Albion, NE) in a C1 District 8 bout, on Friday, January 26. Battle Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 39-31 non-league loss to Norfolk Catholic (Norfolk, NE).
