January 23, 2025: Canistota, SD 57012 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Hanson Beavers (Alexandria, SD) and the host Canistota Hawks (Canistota, SD), observed Hanson's basketball team edge Canistota by a score of 56-52.
The Beavers (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Leola/Frederick (Leola, SD). The Titans come into the non-league challenge with a 12-1 record. In their last challenge, Leola/Frederick edged Northwestern Area (Mellette, SD), 75-49, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Hawks encounter the Chester Flyers (Chester, SD) in a B Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Canistota will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Flyers come into the challenge with a 2-11 record after their 54-41 non-league loss to St. Francis Indian (St. Francis, SD).
