Vermont High School Basketball - Rice Memorial thwarts Rutland
January 23, 2025: Rutland, VT 05701 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Rice Memorial Green Knights (South Burlington, VT) and the host Rutland Raiders (Rutland, VT), observed Rice Memorial's basketball team knock off Rutland by a score of 65-54.
The Green Knights (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Mansfield (Jericho, VT). The Cougars come into the Metro challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last challenge, Mt. Mansfield prevailed over Essex (Essex Junction, VT), 68-54, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Raiders encounter the St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 27. Rutland will attempt to improve on its 9-3 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 72-34 league win over Colchester (Colchester, VT).
